The Taking of Pelham 1:23

Looking forward to seeing this film at a theatre with a very big screen.

Tony Scott screened the preview for us at the wrap party, drawing cheers from the cast and crew (action packed, as you'd imagine). This version is very much it's own- a different sort of movie from the original, Tony's stamp all over it. Denzel Washington plays Walter Garber, John Travolta plays the bad guy, James Gandolfini as the Mayor, John Turturro as the lead hostage negotiator.

Did costumes for this job with Renee Ehrlich Kalfus. Had the biggest thrill/fright as we took our MTA subway track safety class and were sandwiched between two moving trains in a tunnel in Brooklyn. Not where you want to be for any length of time, but this made for the most adrenaline rushes in prep of any film I can remember...

What Happens in Vegas

Worked again with my friend Renee Ehrlich Kalfus on Tom Vaughan's "What Happens in Vegas". Funniest moments included Rob Corddry busting the seams on a bikini bottom that belonged to one of the Pussycat Dolls when he chose to try it on while dancing on the bar. It was later repaired "better than new" by Vern, a member of our wardrobe team so we can all show our faces in Caesar's Palace next time we're in town. We custom made the champagne, off the shoulder silk dress that Cameron wears as well as an amazing gold strapless number. Must find a photo to post...

Baby Mama pix

Was associate costume designer to Renee Kalfus on Michael McCuller's "Baby Mama".

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were brilliant- surrounded by a great cast- Greg Kinnear, Sigourney Weaver, Romany Malco, Dax Sheppard, Steve Martin.

I Am Legend Pix

A little catch up on my last couple of years... Assisted Michael Kaplan, (one of the costume designers of "Blade Runner") on Francis Lawrence's "I Am Legend".

An amazing experience- Will Smith, Alice Braga, an army of creatures, real and virtual. The world of CGI effects, blue and green screen has come unbelievably far in the last few years and it was a treat to see the best working their craft.

All that, the National Guard and thousands of background performers (temperatures that seemed below zero as we filmed evacuation scenes under the FDR Drive)...

File under the "you and what army" category- I'm inside the tank in the center of a crew of some of the assistant costume designers who helped control the look of our flashback scenes.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend

On Ivan Reitman's "My Super Ex-Girlfriend", I associate costume designed with costume designer buddy Laura Jean Shannon, a gal with an affinity for super heroes (LJ designed "Zathura", "Blade Trinity" and "Iron Man").

The task at hand was thinking of ways of branding superheroine "G Girl", who changed her clothes frequently and as per the script, purchased them retail (at Barney's). The folks at Bulgari worked with us, manufacturing buckles, brooches and necklaces with the "G" logo. The embroidery machines were humming on West 38th Street as we chose where to patch, where to add a brooch-

One crucial scene involved Luke Wilson's character "Matt" being undressed publicly at top speed by G-Girl and involved our test running breakaway suits with pull away ripcords. In a case of giving it all for the movie, the multi talented Adam Watt, (a member of our crew) donned the breakaway suit for a videotaped test run on stage. Nice way to meet the director. (Anything for the job!)
